Deathless Legacy is on fire musically and lyrically.  At the fore are Steva‘s captivating vocals.  She shines throughout this 58-minute opus.  She’s not the lone bright spot, though, as every band member can show what they can do. The album starts with an epic with the title track, “Damnatio Aeterna.” The track begins with choirs and some incredible keyboard wizardry, and we are off from there.  This is just a great opening track that showcases the band’s melodicism.

The highlights of Damnatio Aeterna

A super heavy riff kicks off the next track, “Miserere”.  From there, we head into the laid-back “On Your Knees,” which is one of the highlights.  This track showcases the diversity Deathless Legacy is capable of.  “Communion” initially has a Type O Negative vibe before transforming into a dramatic track.  Other highlights include “Oblivion”, “Sanctified”, and “Nightshade”.

With “Damnatio Aeterna”, Deathless Legacy has staked its claim in the Horror/Gothic metal genre. This is their best work to date and will make them better known in metal circles.
