Review by Luisa Mercier

NONONO have just released their debut “We Are Only What We Feel” and it is an indie gem. As anything coming from North Europe in the last year, this record is an anthem to how quality music should be composed. Good production, beautiful vocals courtesy of  Stina Wäpplin and varied music going from the catchy pop of “Pumping Blood”, their single, to darker moments as in “Echo”, a melancholic ballad, and the album closing track “Love”, through which comes out the ambient feeling inspired by the winter that the band meant for the album. Other highlights of “We Are Only What We Feel” are the energetic opener “Jungle” and the beautiful mid-tempo “Like The Wind” and “Hungry Eyes”. If you are a lover of 80’s synths and atmospheres with a contemporary edge, you may find NONONO is definetely your cup of tea.
