JEN MAJURA’s 1MIN JAMMMS: A Minute of Happiness and Fun is All It Takes!

So what do you do when you can’t dust off that comfy old leather jacket and go for a night out? When friends can’t be hugged, clubs be joined, stages be entered, joints be shared and one night stands be had? What can you do when the walls are closing in and “home” of all things starts eating away at you the most?

“Use what you’ve got”, says solo artist and Evanescence guitarist Jen Majura. “Fight that blues by being creative. Invite people over without having to smell their socks, while sneaking a peak at their own caves – it might make yours look less confined. Start a wild, short party all around the globe, then do it again and again!”

What seems counter-intuitive in times of social distancing and got kicked off as a fun thing to do for a bustling artist in between records and without any shows in sight, turned out to go wild as a weekly series of 1MIN JAMMMS on YouTube. It also seems as if Jen wasn’t alone in this dilemma as she gets joined by iconic rock and metal artists from all over the world.
Be it Blame It on the Boogie with Kyle Hughes and Alen Brentini, Soul With a Capital S with Björn Fryklund and Jan Zehrfeld, I’m Still Standing with Bumblefoot and Mike Terrana, Conga with Marco Minnemann and Marcos Rodriguez or Got My Mind Set on You with GusG and Mike Portnoy – the list is growing by one on every Saturday at 7pm CET and they’ve all got things in common: They make you fuckin’ move your ass and smack a smile in your face. It’s what these songs have been written for in the first place, spread joy and genuine happiness.

On a different note, Jen and friends are also showing their mellow side with an incredibly beautiful cover of Tina Dico’s thoughtful, inspiring masterpiece Count to Ten. The song – treated with the utmost respect by British master-drummer and percussionist Kyle Hughes and Jen (vocals, guitars and theremin) – received a full length music video, post-produced by Tomy B.
