Enjoy the Silence gets a ‘siren’ version by Aline Happ
The singer was inspired by the mermaids to record a version of the Depeche Mode’s hit
This is no longer a simple version of “Enjoy the Silence”, by Depeche Mode, which has just announced their return to the studio. The “enchanted” vocals of Aline Happ, singer and songwriter of Lyria, creates an incomparable dreamlike atmosphere, transporting the listener to a peaceful environment. Inspired by influences from Celtic, Gothic and Symphonic metal music, the version also changes the phrase “my little girl” to “my little lad”, in order to reinforce the musical references. The song is now available on streaming and also on Aline’s YouTube channel as video.
Depeche Mode’s original single is from the album “Violator”, released in 1990. It quickly became one of the band’s biggest hits, winning at the 1991 BRIT Awards in the “Best British Single” category. Since then, the song has been covered by big names in music, such as the bands Lacuna Coil, Keane, HIM, among others.
Aline Happ’s first solo album crowdfunding campaign was a success! Happ is recording her first solo album with originals and Celtic/Folk versions of Rock and Metal songs. The artist reached more than 200% of the goal and soon the pandemic is over she will announce the next steps about the album and the perks selected on her campaign.
The videos posted on Aline Happ’s channel are sponsored by her fans on Patreon. Known worldwide, Lyria is a Symphonic Alternative Metal band founded in 2012 by Aline Happ. Since then, the group has released two albums via crowdfunding support, Catharsis (2014) and Immersion (2018) and played in several Brazilian cities and also online concerts for all over the world.
