After releasing two singles : “Phantom Pain” and “I Made My Heart A Field Of Fire”, Ovtrenoir (Post Metal, Paris), unveils its debut-album. More than just giving another approach of Ovtrenoir‘s post metal, this album is the perfect reflection of what consumes Ovtrenoir : a dark and massive universe. Fields Of Fire is out today, October, 23 via Consouling Sounds.
If, to its origins, Ovtrenoir was an acoustic post-rock trio, the band endowed himself a slow and dissonant distortion with the arrival of Dehn Sora in 2015.
With a first EP, Eroded, in 2016 and a powerful single “Inherit The Dust” in 2018, Ovtrenoir gives a monolithic and emotionally sound. Its name is a reference to the french artist Pïerre Soulages (the painter of dark and light) and Ovtrenoir is searching for light into the deepest darkness. A resounding experience which resonated at Roadburn Festival 2019 and, now, on album.
Recorded, mixed and mastered by Francis Caste (Hangman’s Chair, Regarde Les Hommes Tomber, etc.) in Sainte Marthe Studio (Paris), Fields Of Fire give a massive musical approach with some drones and acoustic parts. The entire album dealing with destruction and rebirth. Fields Of Fire is now available.
