SEASON OF GHOSTS: new single
“Wide awake in a world conspiring to steal our light”
The cinematic electro-metal piece, “The Great Unknown”, bears witness to the sombreness of the human condition. It’s an invitation for introspection, in the humbling aftermath of an embattled Europe and other ongoing tragedies. Attempting to make peace with the uncertainty of the human condition, the song offers a ray of hope against all odds.
Sophia Aslanides, the creator of Season of Ghosts, is a mental health advocate and emerging trauma therapist, former singer of trance metal pioneers, Blood Stain Child (Japan) and a key personality that helped popularise female-fronted electronic metal since 2010. Together with multi-instrumentalist and producer Zombie Sam as well as longtime studio collaborator, Fatal FE on keyboards they have created the darkest and loudest Season of Ghosts album to date.
Season of Ghosts is an independent band born in Tokyo and currently based in London. More releases are planned for 2022, leading up to a 2023 album that will be the band’s 3rd after The Human Paradox (2014) and A Leap of Faith (2018).
