Review by Alysha Hayden
Agoraphobic Nosebleed are a grind-core band created in Sprinfield and now hailing from Bethesda, Maryland. “Arc” is an EP that boasts more than 25 minutes of doom filled ear pleasure. Regular listeners of Agoraphobic Nosebleed will find that this album has a slightly different sound to their previous records with a lot more doom/sludge being the influence. This EP is the first of four and Kat’s vocals and lyrics in this record ramp up the darkness to a whole new level. “Not a Daughter” leads the charge with 7 minutes of badassery that is bound to set heads banging from the first chord that is struck. “Deathbed” settles you in for the ride with a very catchy, rhythmic grindcore sound that’ll stick with you. “Gnaw” finishes the EP off coming in at just under 12 minutes. This track was my favorite off the EP with it’s artistic composition of rhythm, growls, voice overs and heavy guitars that will speak to your soul. It’s certainly worth mentioning the vivid cover art for this record was created by the very talented Eric Lacombe. Eric also designed some merchandise for the band which I recommend checking out as well.
