Review by Alysha Hayden
Leaves’ Eyes are known for putting music to history and in their latest album “King of Kings” capture the legend of Norway’s first King, Harald Fairhair in symphonic metal. Wow. This album is creative and absolutely beautiful to listen to. I absolutely love how Leaves’ Eyes take inspiration in world history for their music. It creates unique lyrics and a sound that can’t be heard anywhere else. They’ve been known for putting on an epic live performance as well with Liv’s exquisite vocals bringing in a magical atmosphere on to any stage which she performs. The track, “King of Kings” sounds like something you’d find on the soundtrack to the latest period action blockbuster. This track has a very big sound and even bigger vocals. The contrast of Liv’s almost operatic sound and Alexander’s growls is perfect. “The Waking Eye” is just one example of the greatness contained on this album whose video for the track can be viewed here. This album brings very folk like sound to symphonic metal which I absolutely loved. This record inspired my creativity and I’m sure it will in others. I cannot wait to see what Leaves’ Eyes produce next. They’ve got a fan for life in me after this album. Epic!
