Serbia’s The Big Deal released their debut album, “First Bite.” It was an infectious blend of harmonies and melodic metal. The band has returned with their sophomore effort, “Electrified.” For fans of their debut, “Electrified” sees the band ratcheting things up a notch. Prepare for the next level.

The kick-off

“Survivor” is the perfect way to kick things off; it lets the listener know what we are in for.  “Like a Fire (Electrified)” is next and is a killer track, with its vast melodies and impressive dual vocals courtesy of Ana Nikolic and Nevena Brankovic (who also plays keyboards).  “Fairy of White” continues the train rolling ahead at full speed.  With keyboards, the band shows a bit of a progressive side to the mix.

The Big Deal are relentlessly melodic

The songs on “Electrified” are relentlessly melodic, and the guitar riffs are enormous.  Other highlights include “Better Than Hell”, “Broken Wings” and “They Defied”, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with each of the 12 tracks presented here.
