The Night Flight Orchestra was founded in 2007 in Sweden. The band features members of Soilwork and Arch Enemy, to name a few. Their music can be described as cinematic, with touches of AOR and prog-rock included for good measure.

The intro, “Final Call,” sets the stage and segues into “Stratus.” This track is pure AOR nirvana. The instantly catchy “Shooting Velvet” keeps things going strong with its infectious melodies. The vocal harmonies are vast and satisfying.
“Like the Beating of a Heart” opens with a keyboard intro before settling into a lovely melody and rhythm. Other highlights include: ‘Melbourne, May I”, “Cosmic Tide,” and “Give Us the Moon,” among many others.
“Give Us the Moon” is as solid an album as I’ve heard recently. The band is super talented, and the album is a tour de force of enjoyable and satisfying music. The Night Flight Orchestra is ready to take the listener on a “Long and Interesting Flight.”
